The initiative began with a pilot project at Al-Hayat Hospital in the Awdal region—a well-equipped teaching hospital affiliated with Amoud University. For her efforts, Dr.Nimo Abubakar, M.S.C has been awarded a Canadian Medal of Honor for her international service in healthcare. She was awarded the Meritorious Service Decoration (Civil Division)
